A Message to all Parents from all Stuffed Animals stuck in bags……

Head Lice really like the warm weather.  Why?  Because they are very sensitive to temperature.and they prefer warmth.   They slow down in the winter.  In addition kids are wearing those darned pesky hats all winter preventing head lice from travelling from one nice warm child’s head to another nice warm child’s head. So what is a parent to do?  We recommend that you comb out your child’s hair monthly as a preventative measure.  If you discover that your child has head lice,  give us a call at 617-816-9487 and we will happily and calmly answer your questions about Head Lice.  We continue to be astounded, here at NitWits, by the amount of misinformation that abounds about Head Lice and how to successfully treat it.  We are constantly seeing families who have used Rid and Nix and STILL have a very active case of Head Lice.  I met a friend at a brunch on Sunday whose kids are just graduating from college.  Here is what she said  “Well, we have tons of stuff stored in our attic and, now that the kids are all grown up, my Husband and I have decided to spend a couple of hours each weekend going through all of that attic stuff.  We don’t even know what is up there at this point.  So guess what we found this weekend?  3 bags of stuffed animals that we had put away when our kids were 7 + 9 years old and they had Head Lice!  It is just so sad, we bagged up all their stuffed animals 15 years ago and forgot about them!  Our kids never got to have their stuffed animals back.  And believe me, our kids were absolutely distraught about losing their stuffed animals.   My Husband and I felt just terrible that we deprived our darling children of their beloved stuffed animals.  I practically feel like I now have to set up a therapy fund for my kids, to deal with the trauma of the lost stuffed animals.  And you know what the worst part is?  If I had known about NitWits  way back when 15 years ago, I would have found out that we never had to bag the poor stuffed animals in the first place.  Head Lice are not even on the kids stuffed animals, beds, coats, hats, or any other inanimate objects!  I thought at the time that the Head Lice were in my house!!!”  So there you have it 2011 parents of 7 + 9 year olds.  You hereby have official permission from all of us here at NitWits to stop bagging your child’s stuffed animals.   If the stuffed animals are already in bags, please let the stuffed animals know that they have nothing to do with Head Lice transmission, they have been pardoned and please let them out of the bags and give them back to your children!
